What the Tire Center Does
Used tires
Inspected for tread depth, sidewall condition and bead integrity before they are sold. A smart choice when a single tire is damaged and the other three still have life.
New tires
All-season, light-truck and snow-rated options from known manufacturers, backed by the manufacturer’s own warranty. Call with your size and we confirm what is available.
Flat repair
Plug-patch repairs for punctures in the tread area, done from the inside. We tell you if a tire is not repairable.
Bead reseal
Corroded alloy rims leak slowly around the bead. We clean the seat and seal it so the tire holds air again.
Balancing and TPMS
Digital balancing for a smooth ride, and tire-pressure sensor reset after the work.
Mounting
Tires mounted and balanced on the premises. Bring your wheels or let us handle the whole wheel-and-tire set.
Check Your Size
Your tire size is printed on the sidewall, a string like 225/65R17. The last number is the rim diameter. If you cannot read it, the driver’s door jamb sticker lists the factory size, and the shop can look it up from the vehicle.
How We Inspect a Used Tire
A used tire is only a bargain if it is safe. Before a used tire goes on a car, a technician looks at the following:
- Tread depth across the full width, not only one spot, to catch uneven wear.
- Sidewall condition, including cracks, bulges, cuts and dry rot.
- The bead, where the tire seals to the rim, for damage or corrosion.
- The date code stamped on the sidewall. Rubber ages even when the tread is deep.
- Prior repairs and whether they were done to industry guidelines.
Tires that do not pass are not sold. If you want to compare, ask the technician to show you the inspection points on the tire itself.
Tow In, Tire On
Here is what a tire emergency looks like at Logan. You get a flat on US-20 or I-90. You call dispatch. If the spare is good we change it. If the tire is done, the truck brings the car to 1007 Logan Ave, a technician removes the tire from the wheel, checks the wheel for damage, and you decide between a repair, a used replacement or a new tire. When the shop is open, it can all happen in a single visit.
See our flat tire change page for the roadside side of this, and our guide on plugging, patching or replacing a tire to understand which fix applies to you.
Shop Hours
The tire shop is open Mon–Fri 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Sat 8:00 AM–2:00 PM, Sun closed. Towing dispatch runs 24/7/365, so a car towed in overnight is waiting at the yard when the bay opens.

What to Have Ready When You Call the Shop
- The tire size from the sidewall, or your vehicle’s year, make and model
- Whether you want used or new, and your budget
- Whether you need one tire, a pair or a full set
- Whether your wheels are steel or alloy, and if they have a TPMS sensor
- Any recent damage, such as a curb strike
“A good used tire can save a driver real money, but only if it is inspected honestly. We would rather tell someone a tire is not worth buying than sell it and see them back in a month.”
